Indirect Speech: Questions

கேள்வி வாக்கியங்களை (Interrogative) மறைமுகக் கூற்றாக மாற்றும்போது கவனிக்க வேண்டியவை:

1. Reporting Verb: “said” என்பதற்குப் பதில் asked, inquired என மாற்ற வேண்டும்.
2. Conjunction:
   • Wh- கேள்விகளாக இருந்தால் (Who, Why, Where), அதே வார்த்தையே இணைப்புச் சொல்லாக வரும்.
   • Yes/No கேள்விகளாக இருந்தால் (Is, Do, Can), if அல்லது whether பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும்.
3. Structure: கேள்வி வடிவம் (Verb + Subject) செய்தி வாக்கிய வடிவமாக (Subject + Verb) மாறும்.

எ.கா: He said to me, “Where are you going?”
➔ He asked me where I was going.

எ.கா: She said, “Will you help me?”
➔ She asked if I would help her.
